last time we chatted about project life it was february and i was in the middle of august (of last year) in scrapbook time. i hadn’t completed week 33 yet.
am i still behind?
do i mind?
not at all.
i like to stay a few months behind so i can relive and reminisce while creating. if i was working on the current month, or anything fairly recent, i think it wouldn’t be as exciting and i’d be less creative about it. but that’s just me.
so we’re here and i have so much to share…but i figured you didn’t want to see 90 photos of this stuff so i’m breaking it up into a couple posts that i’ll share throughout the week.
// week 33
really enjoying the freedom of using stuff that doesn’t match but still goes together.
really wanted to keep marshall’s writing so i folded up the paper so i could see his name and the letters he was practicing.
always have to add in their funny antics and conversations.
// week 34
some summer stuff. new and old products.
some currents, some tennis and cheesecake.
i was reading a book set in 1922 and i loved what they thought of jazz music. and today, it’s about the most wholesome thing i listen to.
printing 2×2 pics from my phone makes it easy to fit 2 in a section together. also, persnickety prints does a 1/2 in. border around them so i just trim off the side and top and am left with a perfect little polaroid picture. i use that little white space for a caption or the date.
// week 35
the end of august and i just discovered a little stash of supplies i had forgotten about. trying to use up what i have before i buy more.
i used a card from a coca-cola deck i bought years ago. i had no idea that each one had these little sayings on them. i had never opened them until now.
marshall’s first written alphabet will get tucked into a page protector and snapped in for safe keeping.
i found a set of cool and simple journaling cards before our local sb store closed.
never be afraid to cut your picture down the middle. if you shoot using the rule of thirds, you’ll never have to slice down someone’s face. 🙂
// week 36
loving the clean and muted retro colors in a few of my new sets. love it when the focus is on the pictures.
a new favorite page layout from american crafts allows 4×6 sections in both directions. i like the long strip on the side since so many new products have long strips of text and goodies now.
// week 37
bright colors and muted colors all working together. i love when this happens. i also have a thing for laying stickers and elements over the edges and cutting them off. it feels good to be rebellious against my ocd personality.
kinda loved working with the larger 6×6 sections. gave me tons of room to play.
i had to wait until last week to print the remaining pictures from this trip to the lake because they were on my mom’s camera. so i got to use my brand new supplies from echo park and simple stories. you can say i was a happy girl!
// week 38
to make some pages easy, it’s okay to just throw a cute sticker on a picture and call it good. not every picture needs to be a masterpiece.
i saved the note matt left me before a date night and couldn’t leave out the delicious pizza that was aaaaallll mine.
sometimes, pages are a struggle and when each piece is done, you’re just glad it’s done.
tune in tomorrow for more layouts!
