First rule of life // featuring Felicity Jane

The moment I got the Caroline collection in my hands I wanted to use it ON EVERYTHING! It’s so full of adorable summer colors and the cutest little folded pack of cut aparts!

I had a quote and this photo set aside just waiting for the perfect supplies to call out and these were the perfect fit.

Clusters and layers don’t come easy to me but I’m working on them a lot! I created this cluster using stamps, die cuts, cut aparts, vellum and a doily. So let’s break it down!

The green frame is a cut apart in the Caroline kit and I wanted it to be the focal point and it also was the perfect place for the quote to live. I typed the quote onto a piece of vellum using my vintage typewriter so the patterned paper showed through. I trimmed out the middle of the frame and glued the quote inside of it. Be sure to make your vellum sheet (or whatever paper you use) slightly larger than the opening so you have overlap and can glue them together.

Before I glued anything down, I made a place for this cluster to sit. That’s the stamped grid at the bottom. I tend to like my clusters to have a resting spot so they don’t feel like they’re just hanging there. Silly, I know!

From there I tucked and turned and finally glued things down and adding little puffy stickers and staples.

Adding the polka dot alphas to the bottom was the final addition and I feel helps bring your eye down and around to the next page.

Since the left side was busy-ish, I kept the right side a bit simpler. I softened the heart patterned paper with vellum and layered my photo on top. Then I tucked in a few fussy cut florals and added a die cut heart and a flair.

For a little further softening up, I added some puffy hearts right over the black hearts on the patterned paper. It was fun to sprinkle around little bits of color!

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you gain a little piece of inspiration from this layout!

See you soon!
